Prerequisites for joining: Member in good standing of Bektash Shriners and willingness to attend meetings, drills, parades and other clown functions. New members must also have a willingness to raise and maintain the good reputation of the Clown Unit.
Unit information: The purpose of the unit is to make kids laugh, participate in parades, perform skits, and perform at parties for donation to help Shrine Hospitals and to benefit Bektash Shriners. There is a six-month trial period with make-up and costume.
Meeting schedule: The unit meets on the first Tuesday of every month at the Bektash Shrine Center at 7:30 p.m.
Dues: $5.00 Annual. International Shrine Clown Association (ISCA) Annual dues $20.00 (optional after first year).
Other Costs: There is a $50.00 initiation fee. Clown costume, wig, shoes and make-up, special needs and equipment costs $50.00 to $750.00 or more.
