Newsletter May 2008 Ron Perry, Leader PO Box 32, East Derry, NH 03041 603-432-9659 Dear Nobles, We looked good at our first parade of the season. Marching in the Spring Ceremonial Parade in Concord were 24 of our hardy Nobles. It was a cold, rainy day at 42 degrees! Fortunately there was a break in the rain so we finished damp dry. We sounded good, too, with 5 snares, 4 artillery, 2 bass, 8 horns and bells. In future practices, though, we will have to brush up on what the Drum Major's hand signals mean in order to avoid future embarrassment. Our leader, Ron Perry, feels we need a couple more practices to make our newcomers and snowbirds comfortable with their parts. Practice will be held on June 2 and June 23, 7 pm, at the Shrine Center. We need your support to continue to be the Best Damn Drum Corps in the Northeast. We are fortunate to have two more Nobles join our ranks. Brett Tiede (brother of Alan) joined the Shrine on May 3rd, and marched with us in his first parade the same day. Brett plays the bugle. He and his wife Donna reside in Center Barnstead. Tom Brison, Jr, PP is coming to us from the Highlanders. Tom plays the snare drum. He and his wife Marilyn reside in Hooksett. Welcome to the Drum Corps. We are happy to have you join our ranks. We, the members of the Drum Corps, owe a big thank you to the Bektash Chefs. They purchased two new tires and rims for our trailer. This makes our drive to the parades a little safer. Thank-You Chefs! Our next parades are on Memorial Day, May 26th. We will form in Henniker at 10 am. Immediately after the parade there we will proceed to Ashland for a 1 pm formation. Note that Ashland usually has a light lunch available in the Legion Hall before the parade. See you in Henniker, Ron Parsons, Secretary
