Oriental Band

Prerequisites for joining: Member in good standing of Bektash Shriners. Prior musical and marching experience is not required, "we will train". Members must have ability to march in parades, be willing to participate in Shrine and non-Shrine parades and other Shrine functions and be willing to attend practices and meetings as scheduled.
Unit information: The purpose of this unit, which was organized in 1949 in Claremont, NH, is to promote Bektash Shriners and Shrine Hospitals for children. For over 50 years, we have been a marching band with members from all over the State of New Hampshire and and some from Massachusetts. The unit has plans to have a riding unit in the future.
Meeting Schedule: The practices and meeting are held on the first and third Tuesday of the month, April through November, and only one meeting a month, December through March - at 7:30 PM at Bektash Shrine Center in Concord.
Dues: The dues are free for the first year, $10.00 yearly after that.
Other costs: New members may have to purchase part of the parade uniform. Members will have to pay for their own dress uniform.
